The Meta-owned instant messaging WhatsApp is receiving a new upgrade via the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.22.12.4. With this version, users will be able to see a list of previous participants in their groups.

According to an image posted by the WhatsApp tracker, a new option will be added to the bottom of the group participants list in a future version, allowing individuals to see who has previously participated in the group.

“Unfortunately, it appears that this list will be available to everyone in the group, not only group admins,” WABetaInfo added. “However, because this feature is in development, the way the feature works may change before the release.”

The WhatsApp tracker stated that it did not know when the option will be offered to beta testers, but that “you can be confident that a fresh changelog will be posted on this page when the functionality is ready.”
