The European TwitchCon event will be held in Paris next year. It follows the recent TwitchCon Amsterdam event, which drew nearly 14,500 people, a 65 percent increase over the previous Berlin-held event in 2019.
This popularity is due in part to the rise of the streaming platform during the pandemic, which now reaches audiences far beyond gaming.
“Attending TwitchCon provides a vivid representation of everything that distinguishes Twitch,” said Twitch CMO and EVP of International Doug Scott.
“During a weekend of extraordinary entertainment, knowledge sharing, competitive gaming, and, above all, fun, the memories and community bonds formed on our service are visible to all. We can’t wait to reunite the community in San Diego this October and at TwitchCon Paris next year.”
The next TwitchCon will be held in San Diego, California, from October 7th to 9th, with tickets going on sale in early August.
TwitchCon Amsterdam featured a variety of events and panels, including the Twitch Rivals esports competition, creator meet and greets, and the first TwitchCon drag showcase.
Twitch CEO Emmett Shear also announced some new safety features coming to the platform, which have been well received by streamers.
