The Sega Genesis Mini 2 will be available in North America in October. The little vintage system was announced in Japan last month, with an October 27th release date. This is now guaranteed for North America as well.

There is currently no official release date for Sega fans in other countries; presumably, the name will also be altered to Mega Drive Mini 2.

The Sega Genesis Mini 2 includes over 50 games that were not available on the original Genesis Mini device.

Sonic CD, Shining Force CD, and Silpheed are among the Sega CD games featured.

Sonic 3D Blast, Virtua Racing, Vectorman 2, Shining in the Darkness, Alien Soldier, and Fantasy Zone will also be available on the system.

The Genesis 2-based console will include a 6-Button Control Pad instead of the original system’s three-button configuration.

Sega also claims that previously unseen titles will be featured.

If you’re looking for a Sega fix, you can always turn to the Switch – four additional Mega Drive titles were just added to the Switch Online service.
