On the fifth day of the third and final Test match of the series played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan resumed their second incomplete innings of 73 runs without any loss. Australia did not have to wait long for victory on the morning of the day and Abdullah Shafiq went on to score 27 runs without adding to the individual score of the previous day. After that Imam-ul-Haq's veteran Azhar Ali came and both of them managed to bat for the second wicket and increased the score to 105.At the same stage, Azhar Ali lost his wicket in an attempt to play a snap shot to Nathan Lane. The field umpire did not rule out the Pakistani batsman but Australia took a review and Azhar was caught out. After losing two wickets, captain Babar Azam came to support Imam and both of them did not allow any more wickets to fall till lunch break.After the lunch break, Pakistan immediately suffered its third loss and Imam returned to the pavilion after scoring 70 runs. Later, Fawad Alam scored 11 runs while Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed for 0.Sajid Khan and Babar Azam put forward a combination of runs but this partnership lasted for a while and Babar Azam scored 55 runs while Sajid was dismissed for 21 runs. Sajid Khan was followed by Hassan Ali (13) and Shaheen Afridi (1) Australian captain Pat Cummins blew Naseem Shah's wicket to lead the team to victory and Australia won the match by 115 runs.It should be noted that Karachi and Rawalpindi Test was drawn between Pakistan and Australia.
