The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a lot riding on it. When the Galaxy Z Fold 3 first came out, we dubbed it the finest folding phone, but the market has since crowded, and Samsung’s next generation will have to truly impress us to maintain the title. So, after the Oppo Find N and Honor Magic V refined the recipe with fewer noticeable screen folds and greater specifications, the Z Fold 4 will have to wow us.
This is projected to be Samsung’s next foldable phone, to be released in 2021 with the Z Flip 4. Despite the phone’s August release date, we’ve already heard a few Galaxy Z Fold 4 leaks, which we’ve included below, along with our wishlist for the device.

In late August or early September 2022, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is scheduled to be introduced. Both were announced in August of their respective release years and were released a few weeks later. However, because the initial Samsung Galaxy Fold was revealed in February 2019, we can’t be confident Samsung will stay within that timeframe. However, because it didn’t come out until September, an announcement in August seems plausible.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 costs $1,799 / £1,599 when purchased new. Given how frequently Samsung’s foldable get chastised for their excessive costs, we anticipate the Z Fold 4 to be similarly priced or significantly less so. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be cheaper, according to one source, although the amount is unknown.
The biggest Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 leaks so far have been a 7.56-inch main screen and a 6.19-inch cover display. According to the same sources, it will have an S Pen pen slot and be otherwise identical to the Z Fold 3’s design, with a focus on durability. Since then, another source has said that the phone would include an S Pen pen slot, thicker glass, and improved cameras.
Samsung will equip the Galaxy Z Fold 4 with an under-display camera, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, but smaller and capable of capturing better photographs, according to an early report. According to another claim, the phone would include two under-display cameras, one for the main display and the other for the cover screen.
The battery will be larger, the hinge will be lighter and more dust- and water-resistant, and the phone will include snappers that are comparable to those seen on the Galaxy S22. According to recent rumors, it will use the same 10MP 3x optical zoom camera as the Galaxy S22, which is an improvement above the Z Fold 3’s 12MP 2x zoom camera. The 108MP primary camera from the Galaxy S22 Ultra might be borrowed by the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
A patent application for an under-display fingerprint scanner was also unearthed, which opens in a new tab. This would be a dual-sided fingerprint scanner that would be located between the cover and primary screens, allowing users to unlock the phone from either side. We’d take this with a grain of salt, as we would any patent.
We haven’t received any further information on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, but we will as soon as we do.
