Russia is trying to block SpaceX’s StarLink satellite network in Ukraine.
This was revealed in a report released by the Pentagon. According to the report, Elon Musk’s company is providing internet service through its StarLink satellite in Ukraine, a country affected by the SpaceX war.
However, Russia is trying to block the Star Link network in Ukraine.US Secretary of Defense Dave Trumper told the C4ISRNET conference that Russia had tried to block the Star Link network.
However, after the first attempt by Russia, SpaceX updated its network with the new code. After which the Russians failed in their efforts. But they are also carrying out cyber attacks on this network.
SpaceX has built a cluster of more than 2,000 Star Link satellites in the Earth’s orbit. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24 this year, SpaceX announced that it would provide Internet access to the war-torn country. Currently, 5,000 dishes and terminals are operational in Ukraine.
Last month, security experts warned that StarLink’s terminals should be used in secret, as they have a distinct shape and Russia could launch an airstrike on the StarLink dish.
In addition to the cities affected by the Russian attacks in Ukraine, Ukrainian forces are also using the Starlinks satellite Internet for drone attacks on Russian tanks and their positions.
Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, also acknowledged the specific shape of the StarLink terminals and called on Ukrainian users to camouflage the antenna lights to protect devices provided for Internet connectivity from Russian air strikes.
