A new edition in Square Enix’s Tactics Ogre series has leaked ahead of its official release. Tactics Ogre: Reborn was discovered on the PlayStation Store tonight, and @Wario64 shared several images on Twitter. Unfortunately, the listing does not provide any specific information about the game, but fans can see some artwork and the logo. While this is clearly a real game that will be released, the listing clearly went up too early, as the only thing that appears in the section titled “game and legal info” is the word “dummy.”
Images from the game’s listing can be found in the Tweet embedded below from @Wario64. The PlayStation Store listing for Tactics Ogre: Reborn is still active as of this writing, but that could change if Sony decides to pull it before an official announcement.
At this time, it is unclear whether Tactics Ogre: Reborn will be released exclusively on PlayStation consoles or on other platforms such as the Nintendo Switch and Xbox. The PlayStation Store listing mentions the DualShock 4, indicating that this is a PS4 release that will also be playable on PS5. There’s no way of knowing if the game will be released on other platforms until Square Enix decides to fully reveal it.
Store leaks have become more common in recent years; for example, the PlayStation Store accidentally revealed the existence of Destroy All Humans 2! – Reprobed last year. These kinds of leaks are undoubtedly annoying for developers and publishers, but they can be quite exciting for fans; in an industry dominated by rumors and fake leaks, an accidental store listing is almost as good as an official announcement. It’s unclear when Square Enix planned to reveal Tactics Ogre: Reborn, but hopefully, the publisher won’t keep fans waiting for too long.
