US streaming platform Netflix has announced an increase in the number of games included in its gaming catalog.

According to a report published in the Washington Post, the OTT platform had started testing it to increase its traffic and revenue.

Netflix introduced 5 gaming titles in its games catalog in November last year, including Stranger Things.

Netflix Game Catalog allows its subscribers to select and download games on Android and iOS.

Within six months of Netflix launching the service, 18 games have been added.

According to the report, the streaming platform is planning to increase the number of games to 50 by the end of this year.

A few days ago, Netflix released a statement announcing the creation of a mobile game and TV show based on the popular board game ‘Exploding Catena.

Netflix’s decision to expand the Games catalog comes at a time when When the streaming giant reported a shortfall of 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter.

Netflix also lost 700,000 members as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which cut off services to Russian citizens.

To offset this loss, the OTT platform has also reduced its subscription fees along with advertisements.
