Here's a look at the leaked Sonic the Hedgehog stage from Fall Guys.

We’ve known for a while that knockabout battle royale game Fall Guys would be reintroducing its ridiculous Sonic the Hedgehog and Knuckles outfits this August, but a new leak suggests there may be a lot more to next month’s Sonic collaboration, with leakers revealing a new stage inspired by the hedgehog’s classic Green Hill Zone.

A bean-infused Sonic the Hedgehog outfit first featured in Fall Guys in October 2020, while Knuckles made his in-store debut the following November.

Fall Guys then went on its merry way without Sonic, but last month’s Sonic Central livestream revealed that both character cosmetics would be returning to the game this August – as a sort of duel hoorah for Fall Guys’ recent free-to-play launch and Sonic’s 30th birthday – bringing with them a newcomer in the form of Tails.

That appeared to be the extent of developer Mediatonic and Sega’s latest collaboration, but players began to suspect there might be more to come around a week ago, when a screenshot resembling a new Green Hill Zone stage was spotted appearing (presumably unintentionally) as part of Fall Guys’ ‘up next’ stage select screen.

Since then, dataminers have been hard at work, not only confirming the existence of the new Sonic-themed level, but also wrangling their way in for a full look. FGPancake, a dataminer, has released their results on YouTube, displaying an obstacle-filled arena-style map that greatly resembles the iconic Green Hill Zone look, replete with blue sea, blue sky, checkerboard cliffsides, and polygonal palm palms.

Taking the Sonic theme a step further, the map, dubbed Bean Hill Zone, would reportedly contain Sonic the Hedgehog’s instantly recognisable springs to bounce players about, loop-the-loops (although in the shape of tubes), and a sprinkle of gold rings.

Mediatonic has yet to respond to the leaks, but with Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails all set to appear in Fall Guys – which just reached 50 million players following its free-to-play relaunch – next month, it won’t be long until the developer is ready to make an official announcement.
