ISLAMABAD (Epost): Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced the end of the dispute with the company working on Recodic project and the end of 11 billion dollar fine on Pakistan.
PM Imran Khan in his tweet said that after 10 years of legal battles and negotiations, I finally congratulate the nation and people of Balochistan on the successful agreement with Barrack Gold for the development of Reko diq mine.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that a fine of about ً11 billion has been offset, ten billion dollars will be invested in Balochistan which will create 8000 new jobs.
The Prime Minister added that Reko diq would probably be the largest gold and copper mine in the world, a project that would free us from debt.Earlier, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo and President of Barrack Gold Company Mark Bristow met after signing the Reko diq Agreement.
The Chief Minister said that Balochistan would now become an arena for investment and development. The ten-year delay in the decision on Reko diq has hurt investors and our generation, a project that will connect Balochistan to the rest of the world.
The Chief Minister said that the job of leadership is to make decisions.The Prime Minister, the Army Chief and the Finance Minister are grateful that they have tolerated our bitter words.
