Google reveals its new generation of smartphones, beginning with the Pixel 6a, followed by the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

The annual Google I/O event has produced results. Google has unveiled yet another new phone line, which will be available later this year. There will be three different phones to pick from this year. The Pixel 6a, an update of the existing Pixel 6 line of phones, will go on sale in July. Google also has the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The Pixel 2 devices will be available later this year.

Unfortunately, Google revealed almost little about the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones at Wednesday’s announcement. It has been announced that Google’s latest Tensor processor would be used in both the 7 and 7 Pro phones. Furthermore, both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will launch with Android 13, the most recent version of the Android operating system. Specifications will have to wait until later this year when Google releases additional information on the 7 and 7 Pro.

Google did, however, provide some high-resolution images of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro from which certain inferences may be formed. The design is similar to the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro from 2021, with a raised “camera bar” on the back of the phone that shows off the phone’s cameras.

The bar on the latest phones, however, is now metallic and is part of the aluminum shell of the 7 and 7 Pro. In addition, like the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, the 7 sports two rear cameras, while the 7 Pro has three.

More information on the Pixel 6a was revealed, with pre-orders beginning on July 21 at a starting price of $449 and shipment beginning a week later. The Pixel 6a has a 6.1-inch OLED 1080p screen with a refresh rate of 60Hz. Its battery capacity is 4,400mAh, which is less than that of the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G but more than double that of the current iPhone SE.

The front camera is 8 megapixels, while the back camera is 12.2 megapixels, which is lower than Samsung’s equivalent phone but higher than Apple’s. The 6a will be available in White, Green, and Black, with storage starting at 128GB. There will be no battery charger included with the purchase.

The Pixel 6a looks to be designed to outperform the similarly priced third-generation iPhone SE. It outperforms the iPhone in terms of specs across the board, however, it misses things that the iPhone lacks, such as microSD compatibility and a headphone jack.

In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and Moto G Stylus 5G are similarly priced, have superior specs, and offer more features overall. Google looks to be focused solely on Apple.

Google made numerous more announcements during its Google I/O event, in addition to the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro. Google’s first smartwatch, the Pixel Watch, will be available later this year.

There are also plans to release a Pixel Tablet in 2023, as well as a premium pair of earphones, the $199 Pixel Buds Pro, with the Pixel 6a. Google will release additional official Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro details later this year.
