Capcom has officially stated that it is working on a sequel to the cult-classic fantasy RPG Dragon’s Dogma. For some time, speculation has been widespread about a sequel to the well-regarded 2012 game, which has been fuelled by Capcom’s plan to conduct a tenth-anniversary Livestream for the not-quite-blockbuster hit.
Capcom’s long-awaited revelation was eventually made during this retrospective Livestream, with series director Hideaki Itsuno confirming that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is presently in production by yanking off his jacket to reveal a t-shirt emblazoned with the sequel’s insignia.
Unfortunately, other than the fact that it will use the RE Engine, there is nothing else to say about the project right now – definitely no indication of platforms or a release date – but maybe Capcom will have more to say soon.
Until then, why not take a trip down memory lane with Capcom’s 10th-anniversary livestream, which reveals Wales was the inspiration for Dragon’s Dogma’s Gransys setting? Which, considering the amount of chimera I usually see on my trip to Tescos, I should have anticipated.
