DDoS attack on Final Fantasy 14 servers in North America

Due to a DDoS attack, Final Fantasy 14 players are having difficulty logging in to servers.

According to a new post on The Lodestone, players in North American data centre Worlds may be disconnected, have difficulty logging in, or have difficulty accessing, sending, and receiving data.

“We are investigating the attack and preparing to respond. As the situation develops, more information will be provided “reads the blog post

A DDoS attack overloads servers with network traffic far beyond their normal capacity.

Over a thousand players have posted images of login queues on Twitter.

It is unknown who is behind the attacks or why they are taking place.

It could be due to the postponement of the North American Data Center expansion, which was originally scheduled for August 2022 but has now been pushed back to November 2022 due to a semiconductor shortage.

The next patch 6.2, Buried Memory, will be released in August, and it will include a new Island Sanctuary farming sim mode.

The next Letter from the Producer Live stream will be held on August 12th at 11 a.m. UK time.
