As the build-up to a full reveal for Modern Warfare 2, the release date for this year’s Call of Duty has been revealed: the game will reach shelves on October 28, 2022.
To advertise the release date, Infinity Ward and Activision created some enormous artwork in a docking area, as well as updated the game’s website with some new information.
Captain Price and Gaz will return after appearing in 2019’s Modern Warfare revival, while famous characters Soap and Ghost will be in Task Force 141 this time around.
In other news, the current Vanguard update files contain some hints regarding MW2 having a beta, just like Vanguard did leading up to its release.
Despite Xbox’s Activision purchase, it appears that this will launch initially on PlayStation, in accordance with Vanguard’s system, and as part of the franchise’s ongoing marketing agreement with PlayStation.
According to CharlieIntel, the beta will be accessible to people who pre-order the game, although PlayStation will have sooner and more sessions.
The next stop on the hype train will be a real reveal trailer, which should arrive on June 8th after many hints for that date were discovered, so stay tuned!
