According to the producer, the Lollipop Chainsaw remake will not change the plot or the visuals.

According to its producer, the planned remake of the cult classic Lollipop Chainsaw will not make significant modifications to the original game’s plot or design. This includes any modifications to the appearance of the game’s main heroine, cheerleader Juliet Starling, who spends the game cutting through hordes of undead in a scant dress.

Producer Yoshimi Yasuda issued a fresh statement on the remake on Twitter last night, attempting to clear up fan uncertainty about keywords from the project’s original announcement.

The suggestion of a “more realistic look” in particular has led some fans to believe that the game’s graphical design will be updated. This is not the case, according to Yasuda.

“The prior announcement about how the game would have a more realistic appearance was supposed to relate to how we will leverage the powerful rendering technology available in contemporary gaming systems,” Yasuda explained.

Other fans speculated that this indicated Juliet Starling’s character model may also be modified, which Yasuda addressed.

“We do not intend to modify Juliet’s design, and the notion that we do is unfounded,” he stated. “We generated Juliet’s model data after much trial and error ten years ago, and we feel more bonded to her than anybody else.”

“We discovered that many fans are concerned about censoring in the game after the announcement of the Lollipop Chainsaw remake,” Yasuda stated.

“We have not yet discussed the matter with the platform holders and hence cannot say anything about the topic, but we want to negotiate with the platform holders to make the game as near to the original version as feasible.”

The Lollipop Chainsaw remake is scheduled for release in 2023 and is intended to keep the game accessible. It’s presently one of the few games not included in Microsoft’s Xbox backwards compatibility programme, most likely owing to music licencing concerns.
